Greenpower Mobility - All-Energy Medium and Heavy-Duty Vehicles
Greenpower designs, builds and distributes a full suite of low-floor and high-floor electric medium and heavy-duty vehicles. This includes transit buses as well as school buses, as cargo buses and shuttles.
EV Star is a zero-emission vehicle with a high degree of personalization. It's also fully FTA certified and Buy America compliant. It offers a range that is world-class and ADA wheelchair-friendly features. It also provides cargo delivery setups.
EV Star
GreenPower Motor Company produces a complete line of high-floor and low-floor all-electric medium and heavy-duty vehicles. The EV Star Cab & Chassis is their flagship vehicle, and can be adapted to meet a variety of applications. The platform's design is based on a simple paper that allows for optimal placement of the battery and a lower center-of-gravity. This results in higher payload/range ratios.
The EV Star REEFERX is designed to be used for mid-to-last mile refrigerated delivery as well as catering applications. The refrigerated trucks of class 4 have a single interior wall structure and a higher insulation level than conventional trucks, allows for seamless sanitation and better temperature control. They also have a longer lifespan. The EV Star REEFERX provides superior capacity for cargo and a payload that is industry-leading to range for zero-emission freight or passenger transport.
GreenPower has partnered with Perrone Robotics in order to equip the EV Star with TONY (To navigate you) autonomous vehicle systems, which will allow fleets to transition to autonomous vehicles. The AV Star can also be wirelessly charging up to 75 kW.
We had the opportunity to test the EV9 for several hours on a local highway and found it to be easy to drive and comfortable for long distances. The ride is smooth on bumps and ruts, and the EV9 is a master of reducing wind and road noise on the highway. The acceleration of the vehicle is astonishingly fast, and it comes with adjustable regenerative brakes that allow "one-pedal driving" simply by releasing the accelerator.
The EV9 is extremely reliable and can be fully recharged in just three hours at home or using any commercial charger. The driver can choose from two operating modes: eco mode and sport mode. Eco mode focuses on the power as well as cruise control and handling while sport mode maximizes speed. Both modes are fun to drive and provide an experience unlike any other for those who have never driven an electrical vehicle before.
GreenPower provides a variety of other EVs which include a multi-purpose electric minibus, called the EV Star. The EV Star is ADA compliant and can be used as an executive shuttle, transit or micro-transit bus, vanpool, or a paratransit vehicle.
GreenPower is already producing about 10 EV Star buses a month for the Jacksonville Transit Authority, which is working to replace their fleet of old diesel vehicles with 100 fully electric vehicles. GreenPower will increase production to meet the demand of the Biden Administration who is planning to electrify all school buses in America. Their EV Star buses are the first of their kind to be Altoona tested and FMVSS certified, Buy America compliant, and ADA certified. power electric scooter will make them eligible for federal transit grants. Check back as we follow the AV Star on its tour of demonstration later in the year. We will provide more details about this revolutionary electric vehicle.
